We are accredited by The Joint Commission and exclusively dedicated to the treatment of sleep apnea.
If you have been prescribed
a PAP device for the treatment of sleep apnea it is
important to understand this therapy is only successful
if you use it properly. PAP can be a lifesaving treatment,
but it also helps you feel better and reduces a number
of potential health risks. Although easy to use there
are a number of points to understand if this treatment
is to have long-term positive effects.
Apnea Management Services has developed an 8 Step Support
Program that will assist you in using PAP therapy successfully.
From the very beginning this program will step you through
the treatment protocol with device-specific education
and routine follow-ups. Data will be collected on a
regular basis from your PAP device so that we can monitor
how well the therapy is working for you. This information
will be entered into our custom database program to
further analyze your treatment and make adjustments
as needed.
The goal at Apnea Management Services (AMS) is to help
you improve your quality of life with a structured program
that is tailored to your personal needs. As an AMS patient
participating in this 8 Step Support Program, you will
also be able to monitor the success of your treatment
directly from the secure AMS website. Providing direct
access to your treatment details will allow you to see
your maintenance schedule, accessory replacement details
and scheduled follow-up visits.
Here
is how the program works:
Step
1:Initial visit to fill your prescription
requirements and receive personal instruction and education
about PAP and the procedures for setting up and maintaining
your equipment. You will also be given an Accessory
Replacement Schedule which details the maintenance
and replacement procedures to follow for successful
use of PAP.
Step 2:One
week later the first scheduled follow-up visit to
track progress from the initial night of use. Information
will be downloaded from your PAP device and a report
will be generated and sent to your referring physician.
This visit will also allow us to resolve any issues
you may be having with your mask or accessories.
Step 3:One month later
the second scheduled follow-up visit to discuss any
on going issues. We will download information from your
PAP device again and generate another progress report
for your referring physician.
Step
4:Three months later the third scheduled
visit will specifically deal with any issues you have
experienced during the first 3 months of PAP use. During
this visit, we will replace your mask and download your
machine to generate a progress report for your referring
physician.
Step 5:Six
months later the fourth scheduled visit will address
how well you are feeling after extended use of PAP.
Your mask, headgear and small-partial filter will be
replaced during this visit. We will also download your
machine and generate a progress report for your referring
physician.
Step 6:Nine
months later, you will have an optional visit scheduled
depending on how you feel your treatment with PAP is
working for you.
Step 7:One
Year later during your final scheduled visit we
will review all aspects of your treatment program and
make any necessary adjustments. We will download your
PAP machine once again and generate a report for your
physician. After receiving this report your physician
may want to schedule an appointment to review your condition.
Step 8:On-going monitoring
by AMS is recommended to ensure that PAP therapy is
continuing to provide adequate control of your sleep
apnea. Proper maintenance of your equipment and routine
replacement of accessories is critical to ensure the
treatment continues to be effective. We will routinely
update your PAP compliance and keep you informed about
your progress and the maintenance of your PAP equipment.
The
regular use of your PAP device is critical for
long-term health benefits. Rest assured that Apnea Management
Services will assist you along the way.
